[ Toronto Public Library branches were our refuge and weather shelter during our early days here in Canada. Coming from a land where libraries are usually confined in private schools and large government institutions and have no choice but to buy books that we like every time, we were all amazed at the accessibility and vast collection of books we can borrow, both on hard copy and ebook format. The ambiance (and, more often, comfortable reading chairs and couches) provided an atmosphere of positivism and an assurance that knowledge will be available here when you choose to seek for it. TPL libraries will always be our ‘happy place’.]
Go to Toronto Public Library’s Overdrive page – https://toronto.overdrive.com/
Click on the ‘Sign In’ button at the upper-left corner.
Sign in by using your library card’s number and personal pin, overdrive account, or Facebook.
After signing in, search up books that you want to borrow or scroll down to browse the titles of TPL books.
When you found your book(s), click on the cover or title.
Scroll down and click on ‘Borrow’ or ‘Place a Hold’ button.
If you clicked on a box that said “Borrow”, click on the same box and it will redirect you to your Loans page. There, you can either read now in a browser or download Epub eBook.
If you clicked on a box that said “Place a Hold”, click on the same box and it will redirect you to your Holds page. There, you can see your active holds and if you typed in an email address, it will automatically send an email once you can now download it/ read it in your browser.
I hope this is helpful!
